Work on the journals is progressing well. All four journals have been edited and formatted and minor errors corrected. I spent about 24 hours completing an index; it took far longer than I thought it would, but I hope it will be useful to my future readers.
I am very pleased with the progress, considering I did not start transcribing until February. It is a real treat to work with local professionals who communicate regularly. this is such a difference from my experience with a “big firm” who was quite distant and where communication had to be through a third party. My editor is wonderful and has suggested changes that make the text flow smoother and also corrected some of the place names that I could not read from the original text. My designer is taking my words and bringing them to life.
I look forward very much to publishing this book—using a local printer—and getting it out to the wider audience.
